Ok, so things are being shaken up a it.
After deleting a bunch of stuff, I realized there's still stuff on this account I'd like to hang onto for a bit, so it's not being totally deleted yet, but I will no longer update on this one.
Any parties interested can add
reignandwonderto their friends list, and I will most likely add you in return.
If anyone else you know doesn't read LJ often, but they want to know, tell 'em, I don't care.

The owner of the art gallery left a me a facebook message that said:
"Hey kellen, a little boy and his mom came by the gallery today. The kid saw your pieces and really loved "incoming" and wants to learn how to draw like you. I think you've just impacted a kid's life in a very positive way"
Um. Heh.

It's funny how so few people can have so much belief in me.
I don't know how I feel about it.
That's all I have to say about that.

Here's #1 of my art show pieces, linked from DeviantArt. I'm testing that out a bit. Also, if any of you know how to properly make the keywords and such work, can you give me some ideas, cause I add half the dictionary to the keyword system, and I'm still usually 2 of the 2 views I get per week.

Three new events to reward me for calling in sick(Yes, I was/am actually sick):
1. Went to the arcade and racked up some wins and new items for my VF5 character. Yay for the geek in me. =P
2. I've decided I'm taking a vacation for the summer and hitting up Bali this June!
3. I turned in my two pieces for the art show starting Monday! I'll go back for the opening and try to get some pictures!

New idea for the art show. After this break, I won't get to change it, so I think I'm going with this an the 5% final WIP version.
Now to continue locking myself in my apartment until I finish it.

The month in review
Apr. 7th, 2007 | 12:19 pm
March in a word... Meh.
April's looking good as the hanami (cherry blossom viewing) is in full swing, despite the weather swinging wildly, plus I've been invited to display some pieces in an international art show on the outskirts of Osaka. Obviously I gotta do something for it, cause opportunities don't come around like this too often.
No, I won't have my versions of Spiderman or something in them, but they will remain comic-booky. lol
That's all the interesting stuff so far, but otherwise the usual stuff's getting somewhat better. Mainly workin on the in-my-head stuff, and as a result I think I may stick out for the full year, but I haven't fully made up my mind yet. Time will tell.
Watching: Japanorama on BBC
Listening: Timbaland - Shock Value
Reading: Marvel's Civil War

I sat myself down to my computer(after I called in sick from work) and focused my attention on listening to stuff while I started sketching, and this is what happened. Yay tablet.

I've also decided to keep this journal around for basic Japan stuff and art whorings rather than move everything and try to get people to go back and forth, but for more personal stuff, I'll be posting on

Scorched Earth Theory Part II
Mar. 21st, 2007 | 01:16 am
music: "Exit 209" - Buckethead
So I'm putting in motion something I mentioned to a select few a while back, and that is getting rid of this LJ and either migrating to a full scale blog page with my drawings and writings that I can tinker with and work on being more diligent in keeping regular updates and posting drawings and such.
But whatever happens, I can't keep this. I won't delete it, but i'm not using it anymore.
If any of you want in on the new place, which will most likely be significantly restricted, let me know and we'll go from there. If you don't, I'm not gonna beat down your door about it. That time's done with.
That said, I do have pictures from Tokyo and a few other vacations to post, but I will likely put them on flickr until I can find a new site. But that will require me to buy their subscription deal or whatever.
Now I've been awake for about 48 hours due to excessive karaoke and drinking. As it turns out, drunk Kellens can sing (and do decent celebrity impersonations - Did Axel Rose for half of Sweet Child O' Mine before my throat went out on me)! Who'dve thunk it?
Later,
K

Yay blue pencils. =) and yay for learning new perspectives to draw from...kinda.
I know I've used blue leads before, but now I really feel like I need to keep using it. On payday I'm buying a sackful of art supplies. Seriously.
I'm liking my sketches as of late.

Days of win

So today I returned from Tokyo from a 3 day vacation filled with sightseeing, bus-riding, and of course... Virtua Fighter.
I love Tokyo, it is now one of my favorite places on Earth for several reasons.
1. The city's HUGE. It's larger than Osaka, but some parts of Osaka have this oppressively huge feel to them, whereas Tokyo feels like... Atlanta. Minus the trees. Times 30000000 people.
2. The people are actually nice! People say Osakans ae the friendly ones, but alas, I was even bold enough to ask a guy "Hey, what're you playing on your PSP?" and he ANSWERED! Already ahead of the Osaka crowd on that front.
3. The people on the last train home are great. My first night I saw two old men acting like they were my age...(or acting how I act, anyway) Screwing with each other on the bus and playing jokes, and as one is getting off, he turns to me and says in English... "That guy ... crazy!" Then he pokes at the window towards him... "FUCK him!"
I died laughing.
4. I successfully played and won at Virtua Fighter in several arcades in several districts of Tokyo. Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, you name it. I was quite proud of how many frustrated players I made, and how they were all willing to talk and shake hands after.
5. If I ever need a yakuza man to offer me the services of a fine young Japanese lady for way too much money, I know which area to look in. Not that I ACCEPTED... but I at least know.
6. Coca-cola likes Tokyo too. Their vending machines have the FIST OF GOD sized Coke cans. Like, for 120 yen, roughly a buck, you can get a 150 ml can of Coke, which is basically a 40oz. of Coke. Man, I was rocking those every chance I get and now that I'm back in Osaka, WHY OH WHY can't I have that here?
Yay. Pictures at some point. I didn't take as many unfortunately, but that gives me a great reason to return and spend far too much money again! =P
and yay for teh s3x0rs. It's a complicated explanation, but so far, it's good.

That's DJ Destro to you!!!
Feb. 9th, 2007 | 04:37 am
music: Blackalicious - Rhythm Sticks
I've been given the DJ reins to a rock bar in Shinsaibashi. Hm. And to think they had no idea what Georgia hip-hop was all about. Not to mention BLACKALICIOUS~!
PS; Yay beer. It helped me along this dusty road, and it keeps me going despite my drunken wearyness.
and THIS!

I'm just too talented for you people.
